Italian Custom-Made Shirting Inspired by Lake Como

Since 1945 Ratti has been distinguishing itself amongst historic Italian print houses, sitting on the banks of Lake Como. With passion, creative values, and industrial know-how, today Ratti represents one of the leading Italian print mills working with global designer brands. In our latest spring collection, we have a selection of Ratti prints on a nylon and elastane quality that is a new base fabric for Ratti. It was developed out of the need for ultimate stretch (almost like a knit fabric). Ratti shirts perform similar to a product you find in a gym or athletic store.

Ratti has an extraordinary ability to print with a sophisticated depth of color and design – even in the simplest of prints. This attention to detail makes them a perfect partner for J.Hilburn. The print process itself starts with “artwork” developed through extensive research with their vast in-house archive of prints and a team of designers that re-invent new and exciting artwork and colorations that I have found second to none. Being able to harness this enormous creativity makes for prints that are unique and something very special to offer in our collection.

The fabric itself has stretch performance that is borrowed from workout gear and stays looking fresh all day. The nylon composition has wicking characteristics for breathability and coolness, making it the perfect shirt for an on-the-go lifestyle. The subtlety of the prints and colorations are almost textural, with a detail obtained through cutting-edge technology. That, combined with our tailoring know-how in custom-made products, can give you a shirt unlike any other.

Worn with a pair of shorts in summer gives a touch of Italian flair to a Saturday outfit. Still, I also love the effect tucked into a 5-pocket pant and layered under a sportscoat for a business casual look that can provide comfort and style in and out of the office.
