On and Off the Golf Course Custom-Made makes you look good

As a teen, being left-handed seriously limited my ability to enjoy striking a tiny ball with a club, and so I never fell in love with the game of golf. Growing up in the UK we had access to a local golf course but it was a place to walk dogs on a summer evening and I never associated it with an elite game, let alone the stylish status sport it has become today. But anyone appreciating nature like myself can relate to the appeal of being given access to wide-open golf courses, the peaceful quiet of a sunny day, and the wonderful isolation you can feel from the hustle and bustle of the outside world.

Not all of our J. Hilburn clients play golf but Golf style is a relevant theme across our custom-made categories with polo’s and casual pants being go-to’s for our clients on and off the golf course. Sporty golf-style borrows from casual product categories but because of club rules, the styling is tucked in and put together with a tidiness that is anything but sloppy. Added to that, over recent years we have seen an increase in celebrity golfers like Tiger and keen players from the world of entertainment adding their own touch of modern style. The golf look has become a lot cooler than argyle sweaters and double-pleat pants of the past with even five-pocket pants making an appearance in the golf world with stretch and performance fabrics helping this

Golf Looks

quintessential denim cut pant get its upgrade to the club. Most clubs insist that shirts have collars, are tucked into pants, and are worn with a belt, giving rise to a whole series of stretch belt designs for active comfort.

The polo itself has come full circle and the golf styling in color, print, and look is something that we see more and more off the golf course. In fact all of the golf attributes of performance fabric, modern fit etc have created a blurred line from on and off the golf course. Summer looks, in particular, are more crossover between sport and non-sport when, in our the heat of summers, the need for layering is minimized and we lose our third piece of outfitting (a jacket or outerwear piece), the look of golf is the easy go-to for styling tips in and out of the office. You will look casual enough to show up to a barbecue or pop to the office for a meeting without feeling awkward for either.

There are a lot of Golf brands out there more or less specializing in this look, with even some brands claiming ownership of the market without a singular technical golf piece in their line-up. speaks volumes to how far how the line between casual clothes and golf attire has come, with casual pieces styled a bit more dressy. There are no custom-made apparel golf brands of significance or that I am aware of, so this gives us such an advantage offering some personalization in our Golf Pants, Golf Shorts, and Golf Jackets but also offer unique fit and styling attributes that may not improve your game but make you feel and look great whilst trying to do so. Then of course, after a nice round of golf, there is the clubhouse, where membership probably includes a sportscoat in the dining room so we are perfectly positioned at J.Hilburn to help with that dilemma too.
