Never a Dull Moment in a Wardrobe

I really love the New Year, don’t you? With the beginning of January, I feel like I have an excuse to wipe away the past and experience a sense of new beginnings, new adventures, and of course, new clothes!

This time of year, is when I like to purge and clean out my closet, to assess upcoming needs and make room for my new items that will be arriving soon. I have spoken before about how I like to keep my closet organized by color (i.e greys, white, blues) this way, I can not only put together outfits easily, but when I clean out my closet, I can fully understand what I might need to replace. For instance, that grey polo I shouldn’t have worn when eating a messy plate of pasta despite my efforts at spot cleaning and laundering. Maybe those crisp white shirts have begun to tinge yellow in places where fragrance and deodorant unavoidably take their toll. It’s natural that we all have to replace items from time to time, and I was actually thinking ahead at the end of last year, planning my list of items to replace at the beginning of this year.

I wonder how many of you actually need the same help from your Personal Stylist as the new year begins? Your virtual closet is a great place to check those basics or, as we like to call them, “Essentials” that may need refreshing. Replacing your shirt items is also perhaps another way to utilize the current shirt bundle, which has been extended and includes an ample selection of incredible shirting fabrics from our ongoing shirting partners from around the globe.

Custom-made denim is another good category to update this time of year, as you will wear it now and go forward all through spring. The Hudson (dark) and Trinity (Medium) washes are great under our sportscoats and are acceptable for most modern workplaces. I will probably be wearing my fall and winter knits all the way through to March, particularly if I’m planning travel since I find the comfortable warmth of Reda wool fabrics a necessity for any travel plans. They look so stylish and unique, pack easily and give me that layer of warmth needed at this time of year.

In suiting, I am always updating my sportscoats no matter the season, I find it always good to have range available for all the smarter moments at the office or out to dinner. I don’t have any special events on the calendar for the new year, but if I did, I would certainly be adding some formal wear to my list with such a wide range of beautiful fabrics available and for every budget.

There is never a dull moment in a man’s wardrobe, and actually, these moments of seemingly being “between seasons” is a great time to get ahead of things to ensure that your wardrobe can carry you all through the new year ahead.
