Anything But Boring Basics

As a designer, I am constantly thinking of our product, how to move the needle, and address our customer’s outfitting needs. When I design, I am thinking of what a customer would love to see next, what would appeal to him, and what could he be looking for to add to your J.Hilburn collection. The new additions to the current collection are designed and thoughtfully processed to be something exciting through summer season and the great dress-down that naturally occurs after Memorial Day through Labor Day begins. This year with everything going on and we are seeing importance on the WFH (work from home) style, these additions tie perfectly into the need for comfort and style more than ever before.
With all the current focus on our custom-made knits, we were happy to introduce two new knit fabrications: a lightweight piquet and a medium weight interlock, both launching in three classic colors. Coupled with these new fabrications to add to our successful library of knit options, we have been working hard to widen our offering. New knit options include: new collars, cuffs, and a new hidden-button placket. We are also launching two zip necks: a mock zip, ideal for long sleeve year-round and a polo zip, available in both long sleeve and short sleeve.
We know that these will be really well-received updates for those of you who are big fans of our knits, a category gaining so much interest during the time at home and we know that we can continue to add newness to.
Some time ago, I was looking at how to give our customers some more excitement when personalizing your chino or short. I perceive these items as a forgotten basic as I personally love that they can be a little bit more special and can feel sophisticated beyond an easy summer go-to. Now added to our selection of evergreen fabrics, we have a range of new option details that you can choose from – adding a much wider selection within the chino and short category. Waistbands, pockets and front closure options are amongst the many more choices. We are also offering for the first time a comfort waistband option that “gives and returns” as you wear without the need to adjust any waist measurements. We can also add this to the 5-pocket, a customer favorite, which I am sure will be an enormous hit.

Talking of newness in pants, for the first time at J.Hilburn, we recently introduced a compact knit for 5-pockets, chinos and shorts developed exclusively for J.Hilburn. Combined with our latest updates, we think this adds a unique fabric perfect for the times we are in with much more development in color in future seasons with this fabric.
In suiting, we have introduced a Reda Flexo year-round, bi-stretch born out of a collaboration with Japanese technology. We believe that this new, clean, extraordinary fabrication will cater to the guy looking for a close-fitting suit and address the performance of an on-the-go lifestyle. It moves so easily and keeps a fresh look all day long, which is what a lot of men look for in a modern suit.
