With the new year just beginning I am already thinking ahead to spring, and whilst I may have to wait awhile to see the fresh buds on the trees in my garden, I can certainly plan ahead in my imagination. Doing so not only makes me feel well prepared, but also makes it seem like the beautiful spring season is a lot closer than it actually is.
Planning is a mindset, but guys are not always the most planful, especially when it comes to our wardrobes. Big events on the calendar may be on the radar, but refreshing our everyday clothing needs isn’t always a top priority. Here are a few ideas that may help you start planning ahead so you can look great and feel confident throughout the year, no matter what the occasion.
The basics are always a good place to start, and this time of year provides a great opportunity to update your classic shirts. So many of our Clients wear a particular type of shirt every day: some classic white, some pale blue Oxford, and others a certain pattern or personalized detail that they wear as part of their signature style. I recommend having one shirt planned for each day of the week, plus perhaps a few extra backups to allow for consistent rotation and laundering of each piece. I have heard of Clients who have their shirts embroidered with the first three letters of each day of the week, or color coding each of seven shirts with subtle monograms.
